The Katyn Forest, where in 1940 the Soviets murdered many thousands of Polish military officers.

The German language narrator in this documentary pronounces the location as "kah-Teen". The Germans asked the International Red Cross to arrive as independent investigators, but the Red Cross declined, without "approval" of the Soviets. The Germans then called to the location many dozens of European medical authorities, etc., to recover the dead and determine their cause(s) of death. It was determined then that the Germans were not responsible for these deaths. However, while most of the dead were determined to be Polish, and other racially related men, many Jewish officers then in the Polish army and captured by those Soviets (Jews), had sent applications to be separated from the Catholics and other Poles, and probably, being of the same ilk as their captors, these captured Jews were spared death; apparently no Jewish officers were found amongst the dead.
