Pawns in the Game by William Guy Carr, 1958
NOTE: William Guy Carr later found that a letter reproduced in this book, credited to Albert Pike and allegedly written to Italian politician Giuseppe Mazzini, was not catalogued in the British Museum library, as he was led to believe. In a later book, Satan Prince of This World, on page 22 he wrote:
“The Keeper of manuscripts recently informed the author that this letter is NOT catalogued in the British Museum Library. It seems strange that a man of Cardinal Rodriguez’s knowledge should have said it WAS in 1925”.
However this Cardinal Rodriguez produced the text in the letter, it should not be accredited to Albert Pike since there is no documentation. In our opinion, elements of the letter are anachronistic and could not have belonged to Pike.
We have obtained a facsimile copy of Satan, Prince of this World and the text quoted above is found in a footnote on page 59 of the PDF file.
