In this magazine's article titled “Charles Lindbergh and the Jews,” (“Liberty,” January 3, 1942), its author, Dr. Francis E. McMahon, Assist professor of Philosophy, University of Notre Dame, claimed "it is certain that Lindbergh is playing Hitler's game."
McMahon also wrote of his concern about the rising anti-semitism: “As a Catholic, I am concerned about the spread of anti-Semitism amongst the Coughlinites of my own faith... I cannot fathom the mentality of a Coughlinite* who assails the people from which the Founder of his religion came.”
(Publisher info: Liberty Publishing Corporation of Canada, Toronto, 1942, 4to, 9" - 12" tall Stapled; Vol 19 No.1, 66 p., 5-cents). The exact text of McMahon has not yet been found for verification. This, and other magazines of similar purpose, were often labeled as "Schlagwörter," i.e., "hitting words," as in "propaganda, debate."
